The Hedef Construction Materials Laboratory was founded in 2004 in Istanbul in order to provide construction inspection services in the field. Here in the Hedef Laboratory; fresh concrete, hardened concrete, steel bars and soil mechanics experiments can be performed. Laboratory testing equipment and devices include both press and tensile devices, soil mechanics testing devices, Schimidt hammer for non-destructive structure tests, ultrasound devices and core machines.
Types of Tests and Services Performed by our Laboratory
Test Methods for Concrete
- Determination of temperature and slump test for fresh concrete
- Sampling of fresh concrete and making standard curing test specimens
- Localizing steel reinforcing bars and determining their diameter and depth of cover with ferroscanner device (with HILTI)
- Taking cored specimens, head cut-off and trim headline with chemical agent
- Determination of compressive strength of concrete by surface hardness method (with SCHIMIDT-HAMMER)
- Determination of compressive strength of all kinds of concrete specimens
- Metallic materials tensile, flow strength and determination of breaking strength
Soil Mechanics Tests
- Sieve analysis
- Hydrometer analysis
- Atterberg limits
- Natural unit weight of soil
- Specific weight for fine, medium, coarse, grain soils
- Unaxial compressive strength
